extrack collects nothing. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party code of any kind. The app never sends your data to us. We do not know who you are, what you spend, or whether you use it. That is true for everyone, children included.
Everything you enter — expenses, ATM withdrawals, cash conversions, categories, settings — is stored in a database on your iPhone. If you turn on iCloud Sync, it is also copied to your own private iCloud account so your devices agree. That part is between you and Apple: we cannot see it, but Apple holds the keys to standard iCloud data unless you turn on Advanced Data Protection. Sync stays off until you switch it on, and you can switch it off again at any time.
Off by default. If you turn location tags on, saving a new entry can record roughly where you were: coordinates, an accuracy radius, and the time. extrack asks for location only while you are using it, never looks those coordinates up against a map or address service, and never sends them to us. Every entry has its own switch, and you can remove a saved location by editing the entry.
You can export a CSV or a backup file. Each contains your whole ledger, including any locations, and neither is encrypted. Once you have saved or shared one, its privacy depends on where you put it.
Apple records your download under its own privacy policy and gives us anonymous download counts, plus anonymised crash reports if you have opted into sharing those. Neither says anything about your money. If you add an entry by asking Siri, Apple handles the speech.
Swipe an entry to delete it, or use Settings → Delete All Data, which also clears your iCloud ledger. Deleting the app removes it from your device. We hold no copy to delete. Laws such as the GDPR and PIPEDA give you rights over data a company holds about you. We hold none, so you exercise them in the app: export a CSV for a copy, edit an entry to correct it, Delete All Data to erase everything.
